Winair: How did CARISCOS come into being?
CARISCOS: Founding CARISCOS was obvious. We simply thought to
ourselves: there must be other Caribbean chemists passionate about
cosmetic science! In this view, we imagined a platform where experts
could share and convey their passion. Subsequently, after one year of
brainstorming, CARISCOS was born.
Winair: Who are the people behind CARISCOS?
CARISCOS: We have a wonderful and talented team of volunteers who
work hard on our projects. We are proud of that bubbling momentum
within the organization. The energy is so powerful that it captures our
motto beautifully: We are stronger together!
Winair: What is on the menu, for 2020?
CARISCOS: 2019 definitely paved the way towards new perspectives. We
are currently working on projects that matter to us. They are related both
to the academic and entrepreneurial facets of the Caribbean cosmetic
industry, aiming to help it on the way to increased sustainability and
value. Beautiful partnerships to come. We will keep you posted !
Winair - Ultimately: what do you seek to achieve with this non-profit?
CARISCOS: We wish to see the science of beauty growing in legitimacy,
as we develop tools tailored for our specific environments.

Winair : Expliquez-nous la genèse de CARISCOS…
CARISCOS : Créer CARISCOS a été une évidence pour nous. Nous nous
sommes dit que si nous étions deux chimistes caribéennes passionnées
de science cosmétique, il y en avait sûrement d’autres ! Nous avons
donc voulu proposer une plateforme d’échange et de transmission
de nos expertises liées à notre passion commune. Par la suite, après
pratiquement un an de brainstorming, CARISCOS a vu le jour.
Winair : Qui compose l’équipe de CARISCOS?
CARISCOS : Nous avons une talentueuse équipe de bénévoles qui
n’hésitent pas à se donner à 100 % dans nos projets. Nous sommes fières
de l’effervescence qu’il y a au sein de l’association. L’énergie transmise
est telle que l’émulation reflète on ne peut mieux notre motto : Plus forts
ensemble !
Winair : Qu’avez-vous au programme, pour 2020?
CARISCOS : 2019 a été une année riche en rencontres, ouvrant la voie
vers de nouvelles perspectives. Les projets qui nous tiennent à cœur
et sur lesquels nous travaillons actuellement touchent à la fois le volet
académique et l’accompagnement vers un entrepreneuriat dans l’industrie
cosmétique caribéenne, plus responsable et mieux valorisé. De beaux
partenariats à venir. Nous vous tiendrons au courant !
Winair : A terme, que souhaitez-vous accomplir à travers l’association ?
CARISCOS : Voir la science de la beauté se légitimer par le développement
d’outils adaptés à nos environnements spécifiques.
