Nel 2010 abbiamo deciso di annullare
un Congresso che avevamo inizialmente
programmato nel mese di aprile a
Salsomaggiore. Perché? Semplicemente
perché abbiamo voluto dare una
prova di maturità, serietà e amicizia
verso i colleghi e le aziende che ci sostengono.
In pratica ci siamo accorti, solo dopo
aver fatto i primi annunci ufficiali, che
nella stessa settimana in cui avevamo
programmato l’evento ci sarebbe stato il congresso della
SIDCO che dopo varie vicissitudini interne aveva definitivamente
confermato la data.
Una rapida revisione del calendario ci ha mostrato che
non c’era nessun altro week-end libero fino a giugno. Che
senso aveva far finta di nulla e sovrapporre negli stessi
giorni due congressi di dermatologia?
Sarebbe stato sconveniente per gli amici della SIDCO e
per le aziende che si sarebbero dovute sobbarcare doppie
spese per una eventuale sponsorizzazione.
All’unanimità il consiglio direttivo dell’ISPLAD ha deciso,
allora, di annullare l’evento. Si dice da tempo che i congressi
in dermatologia sono troppi! È vero e noi abbiamo
voluto dare un buon esempio.
Abbiamo così concentrato grandi energie ed entusiasmo
sull’incontro ISPLAD-ADOI che ci sarà a Matera dal 17 al
19 giugno. Un momento di grande interesse e confronto
scientifico, clinico e pratico che unirà sicuramente molti
dermatologi, soprattutto quelli che amano i fatti e non
solo le parole.
Recentemente un nostro collega ha scritto che una nuova
paziente è andata nel suo studio chiedendo se egli fosse
un dermatologo plastico e se, quindi, esperto nella materia,
poteva fare qualcosa di concreto e serio per aiutarla a
mantenere la pelle giovane e sana.
Chi è lungimirante ha capito il significato e la vera importanza
di questa notizia.
Se oggi un paziente si rivolge a un dermatologo chiedendogli
se si occupa di terapie antiaging serie e concrete e
vuol sapere se è un “dermatologo plastico”, e non un
“medico estetico”, vuol dire che i dieci anni di vita
dell’ISPLAD non sono stati spesi invano. In questi anni
l’ISPLAD ha rafforzato il ruolo del dermatologo, per questo
ora non dobbiamo più dire che siamo “medici estetici”
per indicare la nostra competenza in materia.
Un grazie di cuore a chi ha riportato il fatto e lo ha evidenziato
rendendolo importante; grazie da parte di tutti i
duemila soci “dermatologi plastici” dell’ISPLAD.
In 2010, we decided to cancel a congress that had initially been
planned for the month of April in Salsomaggiore. Why? Simply
because we wanted to send out a friendly message and a
demonstration of our support and maturity to all the colleagues
and enterprises that have continuously supported us.
The date for the Congress of SIDCO had finally been confirmed
after various internal changes. And we only realized
that it would have taken place in the same week in which we
had planned our event after we had already made the first official
announcements.
A quick revision of our schedule made it clear that there would
be no other weekend free until June. What sense would it have
made to organise two overlapping congresses of dermatology?
It would only have been an inconvenience both for our friends
at SIDCO and for the enterprises that would have had to spend
twice as much on any eventual sponsorship.
T h e re f o re, the Executive Committee of ISPLAD unanimously
decided to cancel the event. For quite a while now, people have
been saying that there are too many congresses of derm a t o l-
ogy! There is some truth to it and we wanted to give a good
example.
We then poured all our energy and enthusiasm into the
ISPLAD-ADOI meeting that will take place at Matera from
June 17 th -19 th . It will be an interesting moment of scientific,
clinical, and practical exchange that will surely unite many
dermatologists. Especially those who love a demonstration of
facts and not only words.
Recently, one of our colleagues wrote that a new patient came
to his studio asking him if he were a plastic dermatologist, and
if he, therefore, was an expert on the subject. The patient wanted
to know if our colleague could do something concrete and
serious to help him maintain young and healthy skin.
The significance and true importance of this anecdote will be
clear to any forward-looking person. If a patient comes to a
dermatologist today, asking if he works with serious and concrete
anti-aging therapies and wanting to know if he is a “plastic
dermatologist” as opposed to an “aesthetic doctor”, it means
that the ten years of ISPLAD have not been spent in vain.
T h roughout these past years, ISPLAD has continuously
worked to bring the role of the dermatologist to the forefront.
Nowadays, the need for us to use the term “aesthetic doctors”
to indicate our competence of the subject no longer exists.
A big, heartfelt thank you to those who have communicated
this, proven it, and made it important. Thank you on behalf of
the two thousand member “plastic dermatologists” of ISPLAD.
