Slow philosophy to administer a town: this is the spirit
with which Cittaslow was born in 1999, the international
network of Municipalities of “Buon Vivere” (The
Good Life). A network of communities embracing progress
but maintaining, at the same time, the authentic features
of their communities, proposing solutions and services enabling
the residents to enjoy everything their town has to offer
in the best possible way. The network was created thanks
to the initiative of the mayors of Bra, Greve in Chianti,
Orvieto and Positano, together with Slow Food. Nowadays,
Cittaslow counts 241 member cities in 30 countries from all
over the world. Every year, since 2006, in Greve in Chianti,
a group of people representing the “cities of the good
life” get together for “Cittaslow”. For 2018 the appointment
is the same as for every year, the second weekend in May
(Saturday, 12th and Sunday, 13th) in the main square of
the town, Piazza Matteotti. Even this year, the participating
towns will be at least 25 from all parts of Italy. Our country
boasts 83 Cittaslow towns, from the A of Abbiategrasso to
Z of Zibello, from the mountains of Salorno, in Tyrol up to
the orange groves of Ribera in Sicily. At Cittaslow, the local

con questo spirito che nel 1999 nacque Cittaslow,
la rete internazionale dei Comuni del “Buon vivere”.
Un network di comunità che abbracciano il progresso
preservando, nello stesso tempo, i caratteri più autentici
delle proprie comunità, proponendo soluzioni e servizi che
permettano ai cittadini di fruire in modo facile e godibile
della propria città. La creazione della rete avvenne grazie
all’iniziativa dei Sindaci di Bra, Greve in Chianti, Orvieto
e Positano, insieme a Slow Food. Oggi Cittaslow conta ben
241 città aderenti in 30 Paesi del mondo. Dal 2006, una
rappresentanza delle “città del buon vivere” si ritrova ogni
anno a Greve in Chianti, per la Vetrina delle Cittaslow. Per il
2018, l’appuntamento è come sempre fissato per il secondo
weekend di maggio (sabato 12 e domenica 13) nella piazza
principale del paese, Piazza Matteotti. Anche quest’anno le
città partecipanti saranno almeno 25 da ogni angolo d’Italia.
Il nostro Paese vanta infatti ben 83 Cittaslow, dalla A di
Abbiategrasso alla Z di Zibello, dalle montagne di Salorno,
in Tirolo, fino agli aranceti di Ribera, in Sicilia. Alla Vetrina
