Faunistic notes on Norwegian Tipulidae (Dipt.)
By Bo Tjeder, Lund
Our knowledge of the crane flies of Norway is still very unsatisfactory
and very few papers have been published on Norwegian
material. The most important papers are H. Siebke's
Enumeratio Insectorum Norvegicorum, Vol. IV (1877), a "Revision"
of Siebke's species by P. Lackschewitz (Norsk Entom.
Tidsskr., vol. 3, 1933) and a list of the collections in the Trornscd
Museum, published by the same author in 1935 (Tromso Mus.
Arsh., Nat. Hist. no. 8, vol. 53.4). By the kindness of Miss
Astrid Loken and Prof. Hans Kauri, Bergen, I have recently
had an opportunity of examining the material of these flies in
the Bergen Museum. These collections include several interesting
species, among them some additions to the Norwegian list. Most
of the specimens were collected in Hordaland from which county
the fauna of crane flies was almost unknown. A list of the species
should accordingly not be considered as superfluous. Also a small
collection received from the Museum in Trondheim and some
specimens in the collections of the Entomological Museum of
Lund University and in my own collection are included in this
list.
The species are enumerated in accordance with my list of the
Swedish species (Cat. Ins. Suec. xiv, Opuscula Ent. 20, 1955).
In enumerating the localities I have used the regional divisions
and standard abbreviations, adopted by Norwegian entomologists
(see Andr. Strand in Norsk Ent. Tidsskr. 1943, p. 209). Also
the following abbreviations have been used:
