Petersen, 1957 and Tinea Linnseus, 1758
(Lep., Tineidae)
By M. Opheim, Oslo
The genus Tinea Zeller of authors, comprises 14 species in the 1
Haanshus list (1933) of Norwegian Lepidoptera. Lately, the
genus has been separated into several genera, based mainly on
the structure of the genitalia (Petersen 1957). Regarding the
Norwegian tineids only, the largest genus is Nenzapogoa Schrank,
1802, with 8 species: N. granellzts (L.), N. cloacellus (Haw.),
N. arcellus (Fab.), N. picarellus (CI.), N. laterellus (Thnbg.)
(= arc~tatella Stt.), N. emortuellzts (Zell.) (= corticella Curt.),
N, $arasitellus (Hb.) and N. fz~lz~inzitrell~ts (Sod.).
Due to wrong determination, N. parasitellus should be excluded,
but the number of species remains 8, as S~mme (1962)
while working on the store house insects, discovered that also
N. personellus (Pierce) belongs to the Norwegian fauna.
In our country we have only one species in the genus Haplotinea
Diakonoff IG Hinton, 1956: H. insectella (Fab.) (= misella
Zell.)
T. igniconzella H. S. has been removed to the genus Infurcitinea
Spuler, 1910 (Petersen l.c.), which comprises also another Norwegian
species, I. arge~ztimacztlella (Stt.).
The rest of the Norwegian 7'inea are included in the two genera,
Niditinea Petersen, 1957, and Tilzea Linnzus, 1758, the only
genera being treated in this paper. Hitherto, Niditinea has been
represented by one species only, N. fzcscipunctella (Haw.) in
Norway, but the scarce species N. piercclla (Bentinck) belongs
to our fauna, too, as is shown in this paper. Haanshus (1.c.)
lists 3 species of the restricted Y'inea L., viz, : T. pellionella L.,
T. trinotella Thnbg. (= lafiella Hb.) and T. semifuluella Haw.
Then, in 1944, Knaben records T. pallescentella Stt. as a pest on
