identified as Niditiqzea piercella (Bent.), a species which is new to
Norway. Five of them were collected on July 5th 1920 and the
sixth on the 21st.
Petersen (1961) has cleared up the identify of N. piercella and
has good sketches of the genitalia. The larva has been found in
mole-hills, in the nest of Coleus nzonedula and that of Ves$a crabro.
The species has been little observed in Scandinavia. In Sweden
it is recorded only from birds' nests in Visingso in Smgland
(Benander 1946) and in Denmark a 8 has recently been collected
at Ulfshale on the island of Mein (van Deurs 1963).
Niditinea fuscipunctella (Haworth, 1828)
Of the "T. fuscipunctella" material in the 2001. Rlus., Oslo, only
9 out of 15 specimens were correctly determined. On the other
hand, one 9 from Spro, erroneoilsly determined as "1 inea parasitella
Hb." by Haanshus (see Norsk Ent. Tidsskr. 2, 153), was
identified as N. fuscipunctella (Haw.). Nenzapogon parasitellus
(Hb.) should then be deleted from the Norwegian list, as no other
reference is made to this species regarding Norway.
Reliable records of N. fuscipu?zctella (Haw.) are as follows, viz, :
0stfold: Sarpsborg 9 August 2nd 1921 (Barca). Akerhus: Oslo 8,
Rosersberg 3 July 6th 1848 (Esmark), Teryen 9 July 1st 1851
(Siebke), Sandvika 2 6d July 30th 1934, 2 ?? August 15th and
September 10th 1934 (Barca), Spro 9 August 22nd 1924, as
"T. $arasitella" (Haanshus). Opland, southern part: Ringebu 9
July 7th 1922 (Barca). Aust-Agder, outer part: Laget $ 1927
(Knaben). Kogaland, inner part : Suldal8, ? (Strand). Hordaland,
outer part : Eidsvzigsnes in Asane, September 10th 1939 (Knaben).
Hordaland, inner part: Voss 3 specimens, Hcring det. (Gr~nlien
Records from Hedmark: Odalen (Scheryen), Buskerud and
M~re (Haanshus 1933), Opland : Fokstua and Sor-Trgndelag :
Kongsvoll (Siebke leg., Sparre Schneider 1876), might be doubtful.
Strand's record from Aust-Agder: Austad refers to I'. pellionella.
Petersen (1963) mentions 17 different birds' nest as habitat for
the larva. Besides refuse of animal matter, the larva has also
bee11 found on dried fruit and peas.
Tinea svenssoni, s~ecies nova (figs. 9-10)
When checking up on the Cerostoma Latr. materials in the
collection of the Zool. Mus., Oslo, I discovered a tineid among
the C, vitella L. specimens. The tineid, a female, which was quite
worn, had been taken at kl in Hallingdal in July 1898 by E.
