studied syst<strong>em</strong>s presented a conspicuous t<strong>em</strong>poral-spatial synchronism among parasites and<br />
<strong>de</strong>finitive and intermediate hosts. Vertical and horizontal transmission are responsible for the<br />
persistence and dispersion of the parasite in the host populations in nature.<br />
