Sua filha, Malena, está com um ano. O que mudou na sua
vida após a paternidade?
A maturidade vem vindo com mais intensidade. Muita responsabilidade
também, não penso só em mim, penso na
minha filha, me tornei menos egoísta. Ser pai engrandece o
ser humano. Saltava muito de paraquedas, e agora diminui.
Acho que fiquei com medo de deixá-la na mão (risos).
O que acha dos projetos musicais misturando estilos, como
o Alok fez recentemente com a dupla sertaneja Matheus
e Kauan?
Acho muito bom. O último projeto que tive foi com a música
Era uma vez, da Kell Smith. Me apaixonei pela voz dela, a
procurei no Instagram, e fizemos o remix. Antigamente não
cabia ouvir português com música na balada, hoje em dia
está muito na moda.
É vaidoso? O que faz para se cuidar?
Sou vaidoso sim, mas de forma bem saudável. Não deixo
isso me envenenar. Não deixo de comer besteira no final de
semana porque tenho que estar com o corpo perfeito. Fico
sempre me sondando para não ter essas neuroses. Gosto
de estar de bem comigo mesmo, esse é meu estilo de vida.
Jesus Luz é seu nome mesmo ou é artístico? Qual a história
por trás dele?
É meu nome mesmo. Foi meu pai que escolheu, ele me registrou
sozinho. Tem até uma piada, porque as mulheres da
família estavam escolhendo meu nome. Ai meu pai brincou:
“vai ser o nome do chefe”. E ninguém deu atenção a ele,
mas ele foi e me registrou e todo mundo ficou chocado.
Para algumas pessoas da minha família o nome trazia um
peso negativo, porque Jesus foi perseguido. Meu nome só
me trouxe proteção e sorte. Só coisas boas. Hoje minha mãe
ama meu nome, é claro.
Sua esposa também é DJ. Já fizeram algum trabalho juntos?
Já viajamos várias vezes para tocar juntos, mas agora ela
está focada na maternidade, está mais parada.
Tem algum hobby? Talento oculto?
Sou um palhaço. As pessoas falam que eu sou muito engraçado.
Meu talento oculto é a comédia.
Costuma tocar muito em Curitiba?
Curitiba não venho com tanta frequência, a última vez que
estive aqui foi na festa da Keune, que fizeram um mega evento.
Mas amo tocar em Maringá (PR), em uma casa noturna
chamada Noah. É um dos lugares que mais gosto de tocar,
pelo formato da casa.

Your daughter, Malena, is now a year old. What has changed
in your life after becoming a father?
Maturity is coming with more intensity. Much responsibility
too; I no longer think just about me; I think of my daughter;
I’ve become less selfish. Being a parent makes the human
being. I parachute jumped a lot and now less. I guess I am
afraid of leaving her in the lurch.
What do you think of the musical project of mixing styles,
as Alok did recently with the country duo Matheus and Lal?
I think it’s great. The last project I did was with the music Era
uma Vez by Kell Smith. I fell in love with her voice, searched
Instagram, and did a remix. In the old days, it wasn’t right to
hear Portuguese in music played in discos, nowadays, it has
become very fashionable.
Do you worry about how you appear? What do you do to
take care of yourself?
I do worry about how I look but in a very healthy way. I don’t
let this poison me. I don’t let it stop me from eating junk food
over the weekend just because I have to keep my body in
good shape. I’m always trying not to have these neuroses. I
like to be myself, this is my lifestyle.
Is Jesus Luz your real or artistic name? What is the story
behind it?
It is my real name. It was my father who chose it; he recorded
my birth alone. It is even a bit of a joke because the women of
the family were picking out my name. My father joked, “it will
be the name of the boss”. And no one paid any attention to
him, but he went ahead and recorded my birth and everyone
was shocked. For some people in my family, the name carries
a negative weight, because Jesus was persecuted. My name
has brought me good luck and protection. Only good things.
Today, my mother loves my name, of course.
Your wife is also a DJ. Have you worked together?
Already, we’ve got together several times to play together, but
now she is focused on motherhood and has slowed down.
Do you have any hobby? Any hidden talents?
I’m a clown. People say that I’m very funny. My hidden talent
is comedy.
Do you play a lot in Curitiba?
I don’t come to Curitiba very often; the last time I was here,
it was here, it was for Keune, who held a mega event. But I
love playing in Maringá, in a nightclub called Noah. It is one
of my favorite places to play, due to its format
