APapel Tangará, fábrica que atua no
segmento tissue em Santa Catarina,
apostou em uma novidade. Ela pode
ser resumida a uma cobertura cerâmica
perfurada, desenhada especialmente
para caixas de sucção de feltro:
o IBS-pressMaster. O objetivo da Tangará era obter
melhor rendimento do condicionamento de feltro,
um processo que, até então, tomava tempo e recursos
da fábrica.
Originalmente, a empresa trabalhava com uma
cobertura formada por réguas e ranhuras transversais.
Assim que instalaram a cobertura de design
perfurado “pressMaster”, perceberam uma mudança
significativa no condicionamento do feltro, garantindo
um melhor tempo de permanência do feltro sob
ação de vácuo: fabricado em revestimento cerâmico
feito de óxido de zircônio, material cerâmico com
menor rugosidade. “No design perfurado temos uma
área aberta maior, o que permite um controle mais
homogêneo do processo e uma drenagem mais suave”,
explica o diretor da IBS, Vanderlei Santos Silva.
O sócio-proprietário da Papel Tangará, Sidney
Melotti, surpreendeu-se com o produto; ele afirma
que houve um aumento de 20% da vida útil
do feltro desde sua instalação. “A função do feltro
é retirar a água do papel, por isso ele fica sempre
tensionado e, com o tempo, vai se fechando. Além

which can be summarized as a drilled ceramic
cover, specially designed for felt suction boxes:
the IBS-pressMaster. The goal of Tangará was to
obtain better felt conditioning performance, a process that,
up to now, took time and resources from mill operations.
Initially, the Company worked with a cover formed
by transverse edges and grooves. As soon as the “press-
Master” drilled design cover was installed, the Company
perceived a significant change in felt conditioning, ensuring
better felt permanence times under vacuum: manufactured
with a ceramic coating made from zirconium oxide,
creating a ceramic material with greater smoothness. “Due
to the drilled design, there is a larger open area, which
allows a more homogeneous process control and smoother
drainage,” explains Vanderlei Santos Silva, Director of IBS.
Sidney Melotti, Owner/Partner of Papel Tangará, was
surprised by product performance; he states that there
has been a 20% increase in felt life since its installation.
“The function of the felt is to remove the water from the
paper, so it is always under tension and, over time, closes.
Besides, fibers and other chemicals are deposited in the
pores of the felt, with the correct conditioning, that is, a
vacuum being applied, they remain open for longer, and
thus reduces the use of cleaning chemicals,” explains Mill
Owner Melotti.
