На рубеже 19-20 вв. несколько расширяются социальные функции
крымскотатарского языка: национальное образование, художественная литература,
периодическая печать, книгоиздательство, театральное искусство. В дальнейшем
крымскотатарский язык стал функционировать в сферах государственного и
местного управления, официального делопроизводства, науки, радиовещания.
Однако во 2-ой половине 20 в. вследствие депортации крымскотатарского народа
и репрессивной политики в отношении крымскотатарского языка произошло
целенаправленное резкое сужение общественных функций крымскотатарского
языка, что привело к разрушительным последствиям в его функциональном и
внутриструктурном развитии.
В последние 20-30 лет продолжается сокращение объемов функционирования
крымскотатарского языка в бытовом общении и его вытеснение в качестве средства
внутринационального и семейного общения.
В настоящее время главной задачей представляется оптимальное решение
проблемы восстановления функциональной системы крымскотатарского языка.

The Social Functions of the Crimean Tatar Language:
History and Modern State
Crimean Tatar language is one of the Turkic languages, which have a long written tradition.
At the moment, the question of its preservation is acute, since the Crimean Tatar language
has a characteristic of a significant weakening of its social function. The report describes
the language situation in the Crimea in diachronic and synchronic aspects (the end of
XIXth century till nowadays).
The analysis of the functioning of the Crimean Tatar language, defining trends of the
language situation appear to be actual. The importance of these issues is identified by the
need of description in adequate way the forms of existence and functioning of the Crimean
Tatar language and formation of a rational language policy.
The situation in the Crimea until the late XVIIIth century. can be characterized as a monolingual.
Joining of Crimea to Russia in 1783 opened a new chapter in the history of the
Crimean Tatar people and their language. Since then, the Russian language is becoming
increasingly common in the Crimea. The language situation in the first half of the XIXth
century is characterized by a closed ethnic boundaries in the functioning of the Crimean
Tatar and Russian languages. Crimean Tatar language in Crimea was used multifunctionally,
in all areas inherent in the national language. But by the end of the XIXth century expands
the scope of the functioning of the Russian language in the Crimea. At the turn of
