In the presence of many prominent members of international and
Croatian sports (including Vice President of EFPM - Miroslav Cerar,
president of the Olympic Committee Zlatko Matesa and the president
and secretary of the HFPO-and Biserka Perman and Biserka Vrbek),
the Congress has brought together many representatives of the European
National Fair Play Committees, European non-governmental sports
organizations, the European Olympic Committees (EOC), European
Non-Governmental Sports Organization (ENGSO) and many Croatian
experts and scientists.
of sports culture”, “The media
and the sports violence”, “Sport
as an agent of moral change
and transfer”, “ Fair play and
supporters behavior “and”
Ethical conduct of the sport
coaches”.
“The findings indicated, among
other things, the responsibility
of both individual groups
within the sport and almost
everybody in areas of activity
- from public speaking to
scientific research and its
practical application as an
ongoing, consistent and
uncompromising care in
learning about fair play in
Conference on Sports: How to get money from the EU funds
In the organization of the Ministry of Science, Education and
Sports and the Alps Adriatic Working Community whose member is
Croatia, Croatian Olympic Committee and Faculties of Kinesiology
of Universities of Zagreb and Split, the 9 th Sports Conference was held
in Opatija. Key themes were the possibilities of sports programs being
financially supported by the EU funds.
Although the European programs for sports, according to the Austrian
regional expert Michael Trinkel, are in the last three years “at rest”, in
the new EU budget for the period from 2014 to 2020, sports programs
are provided with an amount of 200 million Euros.
In order to obtain those funds it is necessary to have programs in
accordance with project requirements and to cooperate with national
and regional EU bodies.
The chance here is seen also by the Croatian Olympic Committee,
particularly interested in this chapter because of the need for expansion
of national capacity and sporting infrastructure, such as building a
sports center on the island of Silba.
