As such every religion has its own history, through which a person can find the purpose of the religion and the ways of worship. History is a fundamental part of religion and the journey to a faithful and dedicated religious life. The Sikh Heritage Day was a recent event held in Castle Hill, Sydney to educate people about the Sikh religion's history. Hundreds of people attended the event, including people of different cultures and backgrounds. It talked of the contribution that Sikh Australians have had in the history of Australia, as well as the core history of how the religion came about. This occasion was showcased in an entertaining manner to attract visitors of all sorts, and was also free so that the event may be easily accessible to all. There were many rides and attractions for children to enjoy, including a petting zoo of animals that allowed kids to get up close with animals. There were other activities especially designed for entertaining women, such as musical chairs which proved to be very popular and fun. People were treated with amazing, ethnic food and drinks that were free for all. There were other activities such as tug of war,martial arts (Gatka), turban wearing and many more. The event was a great opportunity for people of other religions and cultures to learn and understand the history of a fellow religion. This is also important for Sikhs who were not formerly aware of the great history of Sikhism and for all people to engage themselves with the great activities and culture present.
