Russian National Meeting of Meat Processors:
Problem Solving is Possible Only by Effort
Consolidation
At the 21st International Exhibition “Agroprodmash-2016”, the non-profit
self-regulatory organization “National Union of Meat Processors”
held the III Russian National Meeting of Owners and Management of
Meat Processing Companies “Industry Performance in New Realities”.
The business community members
and representatives of the press
and government institutions were
widely interested in the issues and
topics discussed at the meeting.
And this is not surprising because
this already traditional event has
become a unique communicational
platform allowing the participants
to honestly and openly discuss the
industry problems, create effective
mechanisms of meat processing
future development, and define the
necessary agenda of the cooperation
between the business community
and the authorities.
The voice of the union is currently
more significant and important
to the authorities and business
community members. The
organization has become a real
driving force that delivers the
ideas of the meat processors to
all levels of authority, as well as a
reliable partner in solving industry
problems. This was discussed by
many participants of the meeting,
both in their speeches and on the
sidelines of the forum, among
them: G. Ivanov, Deputy Head of
Health Inspection Department of
the Federal Service for Surveillance
on Consumer Rights Protection and
Human Wellbeing, I. Nazarov, Head
of Technical Regulation Branch of
the Department of Agricultural and
Food Market, Food and Processing
Industry Regulation of Russian
Ministry of Agriculture, A. Nevskiy,
Deputy Head of Entrepreneurship
Advocacy Branch of the
Entrepreneurship Development
Department of EEC, S. Yushin, Head
of the Executive Committee of
“National Meat Association”, and
many other experts.
The business discussions included
the current challenges that all
industry representatives were
concerned about. Moreover, they
paid particular attention to the
practical aspects of the technical
regulation, the industry performance
in the context of new environmental
legislation and new economic
realities. In this regard, particular
interest was shown to the report of
V. Andreev, Head of the Strategic
Partnership of the international
company Nielsen, “Consumer in
New Economic Reality. Who is this
Person?” The report thoroughly
described the latest trends in
consumer activity.
One of the key topics of Russian
National Meeting of Meat Processors
was the interaction with consumers.
The participants took a close look
at the phobias in consumer minds,
methods of their elimination, and
a set of measures for the industry
image improvement.
The meeting resulted in the
signing of a resolution in which
the participants solidified the
developed solutions for further
development of the cooperation
with government authorities,
and supported the work of
the non-profit self-regulatory
organization “National Union of
Meat Processors” for promoting
a positive image of the industry.
“This support of the organization’s
initiatives by the managers and
owners of companies throughout
Russia will encourage further
consolidation of the industry and
will enhance the constructive
dialogue between the members of
the professional community and
government authorities”, Ekaterina
Luchkina, Executive Director of the
Union said.
