or medication to the addicts.”
Narconon Turkey has been applied
in many countries for 50 years,
the average success rate of 84%
over 3 years in different countries;
all thanks to the application
of non-drug addiction education
programs. After the signing of the
license agreement in 2013, the
program began to be implemented
by the Kurtulus Foundation’s
expert team in Turkey.
All of their trainers are former
drug addicts and are licensed
employees who have completed
specialist training abroad. The
4-month program consists of withdrawal,
natural detox, and mental
training. In the center where 9
trainers are working at the moment
after completing themselves
the Narconon Program, even if
someone is unable to successfully
complete it in 4 months, the
support continues for as long as it
is needed to get the person drugfree.
Kurtuluş Foundation President
Tezemir said that Narconon is
an international drug-free education
and guidance program that
has been successfully implemented
in 48 countries such as America,
Netherlands, Canada, Italy and
Spain for 50 years. The program
was brought to Turkey 5 years ago
and we decided to make the first
pilot Narconon program in Ankara.
Our students in the pilot were very
successful; after going abroad and
completing their education they
are currently Narconon certified
instructors for the Turkish center.
Regarding the Program, which
states that substance abuse is
not a disease and that medication
should not be used to get rid of
addiction, Tezemir said:
“The program begins with a drugfree
quitting process designed to
help the individual leave the drug
as fast and comfortable as possible.
The ‘Narconon Program’ consists
of drug-free withdrawal, new
life detoxification, and life skills.
New Life Detoxification is based on
L. Ron Hubbard’s groundbreaking
discovery that LSD residues are
trapped in the body, even in fatty
tissues, long after the person has
stopped taking the drug. Further investigations
have shown that many
other toxic substances can remain
in our bodies and have negative
effects in the coming years. The
New Life Detoxification Program is
a combination of exercise, dry heat
sweating and a carefully monitored
fluid intake and nutrition regimen.
The methods dissolve and dispose
of the substance residual left on the
body even after the person has quit
the drug.
The last component of the program
includes a series of Life Skills
Training. This training provide the
individual with the tools necessary
to stay away from drugs. These are
the skills that those who struggle
with substance addiction lose or
have never had. Effective practice
and learning directs the person to
determination, self-esteem, and
personal values. Another important
point is that these courses help to
develop self-control and personal
strength necessary to maintain a
life away from drugs. “
Tezemir also stated that the Foundation
besides providing training
programs in Mountain Ida has also
organized fundraising and made
every donation accessible to the
people in need.
