Details. As a supplement to the existing buoyage at the Danish production platforms in the<br />

North sea, the Danish Maritime Safety Administration will establish 31 virtual AIS buoys at<br />

position 1) - 31). The AIS marking marks the individual constructions and not the safety<br />

zone around the platforms. AIS buoyage is visible only at ship-borne AIS displays and possibly<br />

on radar and ECDIS displays. It should be noted that not all types of AIS displays are<br />

capable of showing virtual AIS buoyage. The graphic representation of the symbols of AIS<br />

buoyage will follow IMO SN/circ. 243. See the figure below.<br />

Note. Virtual AIS as a supplement to existing buoyage is a rather new method to buoy in<br />

Danish waters. The Danish Maritime Safety Administration will appreciate information from<br />
