grundlegendes Element in unserer Welt.
Widerstandskonzepte
Summary:
The word „resistance“ is often used in different disciplines with various meanings.
Hence, it has a different relevance, including in psychotherapy. In this study, the
phenomenon of resistance as a fundamental element in our world is examined not
only in a psychotherapeutical context. Therefore, resistance is first described from a
physical, psychological and socio-political perspective. Then, the connection of
resistance and psychotherapy is described in more detail. Referring to the four
psychotherapeutic orientations, this work gives an overview of the different theories
and their respective concept of handling resistance in therapy. As a specialization,
the phenomenon of resistance is explored from the perspective of existential
analysis. Its specific function, its value as well as the problematic side of resistance is
worked out in detail. The final section illustrates the existential analytical treatment in
the context of resistance.
Keywords: resistance, existential analysis, schools of psychotherapy, concepts for
