A short trip to Brussels
Brussels and the symbol of the World Fair of
1958. After this visit, we drove through the
city and saw the buildings of the European
Quarter, whose modern architecture is a
complete contrast to the older style in the
rest of the city.
After another short night in the hostel and a
very delicious breakfast (hard decision between
white bread and toasted white bread
and limited choice of jams), we put our baggage
into the bus and went to Honim. There
we first met some marketing students who
showed us the homepages which they had
created in their English lessons. They asked
us to evaluate their projects and give them
some advice.
Following this lesson, our partner students
presented their group weblogs on the results
of our project. This really impressed us.
Afterwards it was our turn to present some
photos from our sightseeing tour the day
before and say some nice words and stories
about it.
Before we left Honim, we presented a basket
of German specialities to the students as a
thanks for their hospitality and had lunch
together in the cafeteria. After saying goodbye
to them, there was time to visit the Brandenburger
Landesvertretung and make the
last shopping trip.
In the evening, a visit to the DHL Brussels
facility close to the airport was planned.
There we found out what logistics is all about
and were very impressed by the wide range of
activities that DHL is involved in. We also had
the opportunity to go into the warehouse.
At 8.00 p.m. we started our journey back to

for us twelve hours
later. Because we
were in good time,
we had a break of an
hour in Cologne to
go for a walk or drink
a Kölsch.
Punctually at 8.00
a.m. we stood in
front of the DHL building
at the airport in
Leipzig. While listening
to an interesting
presentation
about DHL Express, a
distinct section of
the company, we
enjoyed a delicious
breakfast. DHL is
newly-established in
Leipzig, and everything
is very large
and impressive. We
realised that DHL is a
attractive company
for internships, to
write a final thesis or
get a job as a young
professional.
