Unheimliche Begegnungen<br />
Anlässlich des 20-jährigen Jubiläums der Zusammenarbeit zwischen <strong>Filmfest</strong><br />
dresden und Institut français zeigen wir ein Best of der letzten zwei<br />
Jahrzehnte. ohne den Anspruch zu erheben, ein umfassendes Abbild aller<br />
programme oder Filme zu sein, so bringen „Unheimliche Begegnungen“<br />
doch einige Klassiker wieder nach dresden, die hier bereits einen großen<br />
Erfolg bei publikum und Jury gefeiert haben.<br />
Leicht, prickelnd, spannend, grotesk bis absurd, sinnlich, tiefgründig – so<br />
kommen die Filme des programms einher. ob nun ein Haus am Ende der<br />
Welt, das durch das Aufeinandertreffen verschiedener menschlicher und<br />
tierischer Akteure aus dem Gleichgewicht gerät, die mehr (oder weniger)<br />
misslungenen rassistischen Versuche eines Männerquartetts in einer tristen<br />
Vorstadt oder die unglaublichen, schicksalhaften Aneinanderreihungen<br />
von Zufällen, die in der Frage enden: Seitensprung oder nicht? - alle Filme<br />
sind sowohl cineastisch als auch thematisch absolut aktuell geblieben!<br />
Endpunkt des programms ist mit „pavillon giratoire“ (Kreiselhaus) ein Film,<br />
der noch nicht in dresden gelaufen ist und der auf die nächsten 20 Jahre<br />
„<strong>Filmfest</strong> meets French court-métrages“ einstimmen soll.<br />

Close Encounters<br />
In order to celebrate the 20 years of cooperation between <strong>Filmfest</strong> dresden<br />
and the Institut français, we are screening a Best of programme with works<br />
from the last two decades. While it does not claim to comprehensively<br />
reflect all of the programmes or films in the past, the Close Encounters<br />
programme is bringing several classics back to dresden which already<br />
enjoyed great success with the audiences and juries.<br />
Light-hearted, tingling, exciting, grotesque to the point of absurdity,<br />
sensual and profound – these are the moods inherent in the various films.<br />
Be that a house at the end of the world which gets out of balance due to the<br />
coming together of various human and animal characters, the (less) success-<br />
ful racist efforts of a male quartet, or the incredible, catastrophic juxtaposing<br />
of chance events which end with the question: Time for an affair on the<br />
side or not – all of the films are right up-to-date both cinematically and in<br />
terms of their storylines.<br />
The programme ends with “pavillon giratoire”, a film which has not yet been<br />
screened in dresden and is intended to set to mood for the next 20 years of<br />
“<strong>Filmfest</strong> dresden meets French court-métrages”.<br />
