Schellack ist eine harzige Substanz, die von der Lackschildlaus ausgeschie<strong>den</strong> wird und sich auf <strong>den</strong> Zweigen des Wirtsbaumes anreichert. Hauptsächlich in Süd- und Südostasien,<br />
und hier speziell in Indien und Thailand, wurde Schellack früher in großen Mengen hergestellt. Die Jahresproduktion belief sich auf etwa 50.000 Tonnen. Um ein Kilogramm<br />
Schellack zu ernten, benötigt man rund 300.000 Lackschildläuse. Für <strong>den</strong> <strong>Vergolder</strong> findet der Schellack vorwiegend Verwendung als universelles Absperrmittel <strong>für</strong> saugende<br />
Untergründe bzw. als schützender Überzug. In der Maltechnik beschränkt sich die Verwendung von Schellack meist auf die Ausführung historischer Techniken. Schellack ist nur <strong>für</strong><br />
<strong>den</strong> Innenbereich geeignet.<br />

Verarbeitungsanleitung:<br />
¾ Schellack und ¼ Ethanol oder Spiritus<br />
in einen Glasbehälter füllen. Gut verschließen!<br />
Warm stellen (zum Beispiel auf<br />
<strong>den</strong> Heizkörper) und mehrere Male stark<br />
schütteln um die Auflösung zu beschleunigen.<br />
Nach vollständigem Auflösen ist<br />
der Schellack gebrauchsfertig. Kühl und<br />
gut verschlossen aufbewahren! Vorsicht<br />
feuergefährlich!<br />
Processing instruction:<br />
Filling ¾ shellac and ¼ Ethanol or spirit into<br />
a glass container. Lock well! Put in a warm<br />
place (for example on the radiator) and<br />
strongly shake around the dissolution several<br />
times to accelerate. The shellac is ready for<br />
use after dissolve complete. Keep locked cool<br />
and well! Caution combustible!<br />
Mode d’emploi:<br />
Mettez ¾ de gomme laque, sec et ¼ d’éthanol<br />
ou alcool dans un récipient. Fermez bien ! Poser<br />
dans un lieu chaud (par examle sur un radiateur)<br />
et bien agiter pour accélerer la dissolution.<br />
Après dissolution complète, la gomme laque<br />
est utilisable. Conserver au frais et bien fermé.<br />
Attention inflammable !
