such as rené chavanne (winner of the 2005 adolf<br />
loos award for design), were already handled in the past,<br />
an inhouse design team was formed in 2007. blaha’s concept<br />
of a knowledgebased, technologically oriented company<br />
will be further expanded beyond current technical<br />
and spatial barriers. the focus will be on new approaches to<br />
solutions developed in cooperation with partners.<br />
Umdasch Shop-Concept, located in amstetten, lower<br />
austria, are among Europe’s leading shop fitters. in accordance<br />
with the global structures of the market, the company<br />
has developed from a standard shop fitter to an international<br />
service provider. the group is a central player in a<br />
network which stands for professional store branding, instore<br />
marketing as well as conception and realisation of<br />
shop investments. umdasch Shopconcept are part of the<br />
umdasch Shopfitting group, which in 2008 generated annual<br />
sales of 254 mn euros. in almost 50 years, umdasch<br />
Shopconcept have fitted over 50,000 shops in more than<br />
50 countries. the annual capacity is currently at approximately<br />
300,000 square metres of sales floor space, and the<br />
main focus is nonfood areas, from department stores to<br />
specialised dealers.<br />
in 2009, the EuroShop retail design awards for the<br />
world’s best stores were handed out by a team of international<br />
experts at National retail Federation’s trade show in<br />
New york. and Nike town in london, another project in<br />
which umdasch Shopconcept played a substantial role,<br />
was among the three tying winners (this was also the case<br />
with the 2008 winner, globetrotter of cologne).<br />
Assmann Ladenbau Leibnitz, a core brand of the umdasch<br />
Shopfitting group, have a presence in central and<br />
Eastern Europe in the form of subsidiaries and representatives,<br />
and in addition, the company performs highquality<br />
production work for manufacturers. the assmann ladenbau<br />
company sees itself as more than a mere hardware supplier,<br />
it is also as a strategic partner for its clients. With its<br />
professionally realised singlevendor solutions for trade and<br />
industry, the company has long been positioned well beyond<br />
austria’s borders. reference projects in germany, Switzerland,<br />
italy, poland, the czech republic, romania, bulgaria,<br />
Slovenia, croatia and Serbia are proof of its abilities and<br />
international acceptance. making all systems easily and<br />
costeffectively adaptable to individual requirements plays<br />
a role during their development. the range of choices<br />
available to the client is even larger because many of these<br />
basic systems are offered in three variations: functional, optimised<br />
and maximised. these fibreoptic management<br />
(Fom) systems differ with regard to design, accessories and<br />
material, and they are also priced differently.<br />
in the 1950s, List was founded by Franz list Sr. as a carpentry<br />
shop. today, the company has 370 employees and is<br />
headquartered at the 12,500 square metre facility in Edlitz<br />
(Neunkirchen district, lower austria). the list group consists<br />
of a holding company and five subsidiaries that operate<br />
independently in different market segments. the company<br />
generates an export ratio of more than 90% and<br />
specialises in innovative interior fittings for yachts, cruise<br />

die weltweit besten Stores verliehen. mit der Nike town in<br />
london zählte neuerlich ein projekt zu den als gleichwertig<br />
eingestuften (drei) gewinnern, an dessen realisierung<br />
umdasch Shopconcept wesentlich beteiligt war (beim<br />
Sieger 2008 „globetrotter“, Köln, war dies ebenfalls der<br />
