The German BACnet System
Integrator SWG Stuckmann
Wirtschaftliche Gebäudesysteme
GmbH has been
awarded for some of the
energy efficiency projects
in schools. Because of the
branch office from SWG in
the city of Ahlen, it was natural
that the company submitted
quotes for the local
energy efficiency projects.
SWG constructed some of
the local school projects e.g.
for two secondary schools
and a primary school. The
goal within the project was
the BACnet integration of
heat pumps, frequency converters,
air handling units
and a boiler with BBC Controllers
and the connection
through MSTP. In close collaboration
with the planning
engineers of “Ingenieurbüro
Merker”, SWG was enabled
to bring in their experience
and extensive knowledge of
BACnet system integration
into the project.
Equipped with BACnet
Operator Workstation
The visualisation of the
building management system
(BMS) was done for
each school individually
by a B-OWS (BACnet Op-
erator Workstation) with
an integrated web-server
from Delta Controls. The
web-Server allowes the user
through a secured VPN
connection to operate and
monitor the building management
system from any
preconfigured PC. In addition
to the web-server, SWG
configured the system to receive
detailed data information
from various BACnet
MS/TP components to help
the BMS operate energy efficient
and furthermore to reduce
the energy costs of the
buildings.
The in-depth BACnet integration
allows the city of
Ahlen to access and process
energy efficiency information
in a fast, flexible
and very easy way and helps
to optimise the buildings.
Furthermore the city has a
BACnet BMS system, that
allows them to integrate
additional buildings with
building controls systems
from multiple manufacturers
in the future.
