| | The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) is leading the development of the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Peaceful Nuclear<br />
Energy Program and building the country’s first nuclear energy plant. The Barakah new build nuclear power plant site in May <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
Four units with a total capacity of about 5,600 MWe are under construction. Commercial operation for the first unit is planned for 2018.<br />
