BELARus

During the visit of the German delegation to Minsk a contact
and cooperation exchange was arranged for businessmen. It gathered
representatives of ten companies of Rheinland-Pfalz and Saar
and over 30 Belarusian companies.
Members of the German delegation met with representatives
of Minsk City Hall services, namely the utilities services, water supplies
department Minskvodokanal, electricity supply department
Minskenergo as well as representatives of the Natural Resources
and Environmental Protection Ministry, the Energy Effectiveness
Department.
The German delegation represented goals and tasks of the Centre
in charge of promoting trade and economic links of Rheinland-
Pfalz with Central and Eastern Europe, the economic potential of
Rheinland-Pfalz. The German delegation received information
about Belarus’ business operation conditions and investment activities.
Representatives of the German delegation were also interested
in priorities of Belarus’ economic policy in the environmental and
ecological areas. They also showed their interest in sharing experience
of building and using sewage disposal plants, waste recycling,
utilisation of waste incineration installations and use of renewable
energy resources (biomass, wind and solar power).
The German guests discussed possibilities of transferring
new technologies in public transport organization in Belarus and
Minsk.
On 16 June the delegation took part in an information seminar
where the German companies were informed about the economic
potential of Belarus and individual industries, the liberalization of
business operation terms, improvement of the investment climate
and the overall business climate in the country, the state regulation
of foreign trade, and Belarus plans for privatization. The Centre
for Central and Eastern Europe of Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH and the
Rheinland-Pfalz Investment Bank also arranged a presentation of
the economic potential of Rheinland-Pfalz for representatives of
Belarusian companies and organizations.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Deutsche Delegationsmitglieder haben sich mit Leitern von
Abteilungen und Diensten der Stadtexekutive getroffen – Vertretern
des Kommunaldienstes, der Dienste „Minskwodokanal“, „Minskenergo“,
„Minsktrans“. Außerdem fanden Gespräche im Ministerium
für Naturressourcen und Umweltschutz, in der Abteilung für
Energieeffizienz statt.
Deutsche Gäste haben über Aufgaben und Ziele der MOEZ
Rheinland-Pfalz und über das Wirtschaftspotential dieses Bundeslandes
erzählt, darüber hinaus haben sie Informationen über die
