Belgazprombank has joined the Global Trade Finance Program of the
International Finance Corporation (IFC) as an issuing bank. The step has
granted access to a network of banks supporting trade finance operations
across the globe. Increasing the bank’s foreign trade financing capability,
the IFC aims to increase the share of developing countries in global trade and
promote trade in goods and services between those countries.
The IFC will provide Belgazprombank with a $10 million guarantee to
help the bank finance foreign trade deals of its clients. “We welcome the IFC’s
support during these challenging times. It is our long-term partner,” said
Sergei Shaban, Belgazprombank Deputy Chairman of the Board. “The Global
Trade Finance Program will give us more opportunities to help our clients
reach into global markets.” In turn, Snezana Stoiljkovic, IFC Director for Central
and Eastern Europe, said that as part of the Global Trade Finance Program
the IFC and Belgazprombank will support imports and exports of Belarusian
companies, thus fostering additional opportunities for economic growth in
Belarus.
Founded in 1990, Belgazprombank is the seventh largest bank in Belarus.
The bank focuses on lending to Belarusian small and medium-sized businesses.
The bank has a long history of cooperation with the International Finance
Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
BelGazPromBank schloss sich dem IFC-Programm zur Globalen Handelsfinanzierung
(Global Trade Finance Program) an und erhielt Zugang zum
verzweigten Netz der Banken, die Handelsgeschäfte weltweit finanzieren
können. IFC ist bestrebt, den Anteil der Entwicklungsländer im Welthandel
zu vergrößern und den Waren- und Dienstleitungsverkehr zwischen diesen
Ländern zu fördern.
Die Internationale Finanz-Corporation IFC gewährt der Minsker BelGaz-
PromBank eine Garantie im Volumen von 10 Millionen US-Dollar zur Finanzierung
von Außenhandelsgeschäften ihrer Kunden. „Wir begrüßen das Engagement
der IFC, unseres langfristigen Partners, besonders unter gegenwärtig
schwierigen Bedingungen“, betonte der BelGazPromBank-Vize Sergej Scha-
ban. „Die Beteiligung am Programm erlaubt es uns, unsere Unternehmen den
Weltmarkt erobern zu lassen.“ Die IFC-Direktorin für Mittel- und Osteuropa,
Snezana Stoiljkovic, betonte, dass über das Programm zur Außenhandelsfinanzierung
IFC und BelGazPromBank die Ex- und Import-Aktivitäten lokaler
Unternehmen fördern und zusätzliche Möglichkeiten für wirtschaftliches
Wachstum in Belarus schaffen werden.
1990 gegründete BelGazPromBank ist die siebtgrößte Bank in Belarus.
Die Bank ist landesweit einer der führenden Akteure in der Finanzierung von
Klein- und Mittelunternehmen und arbeitet mit solchen internationalen Finanzorganisationen
wie IFC und EBWE zusammen.

According to Grodno Oblast Vice Governor Alexander Rusanov, Lido
facilities will be built in Grodno, Lida and the town of Mir. This year Lido
representatives are supposed to visit the oblast to choose the locations for
the future cafes. The sides will have to agree the type of the future public
catering enterprises, with joint ventures as an option. The cost of one Lido
café is estimated at €4-5 million.
Lido restaurants focus on allowing customers to customizing their menu
using individual preferences and Lido capabilities. Lido’s first restaurant for
215 seats was set up in Minsk in late 2004.
The Latvian company BC Holding intends to deploy a chain of Double
Coffee cafes in the Grodno oblast via renting or buying premises. Investments
in setting up one café as large as 100-300 sq m are estimated at €1.5-2
million.

Nach Angaben des stellvertretenden Vorsitzenden der Gebietsexekutive
Alexander Russanow kommen für die Errichtung von Lido-Komplexen drei
Ortschaften in Frage: Grodno, Lida und Siedlung Mir. Im laufenden Jahr werden
die Unternehmensvertreter nach Grodno reisen, um die passenden Plätze
für die zukünftigen Cafes auszuwählen. Zu vereinbaren sei noch die Rechtsform
der Gastronomiebetriebe, wahrscheinlich werden es Gemeinschaftsunternehmen
sein. Die Kosten von einem Lido-Komplex belaufen sich auf 4-5
Millionen Euro.
Das Hauptmerkmal von Lido-Restaurants ist das Prinzip der offenen Küche,
wenn die Gäste ihr eigenes Menü zusammenstellen können – je nach
