therapy with plasma or an
enlargement of lips that
are perceived as too small
are not uncommon, even in
younger men.
What is plasma therapy?
Plasma therapy, also called
PRP, is something very
natural because the active
ingredient is extracted
from your own body. It is
plasma that is enriched
with platelets. These blood
components are separated
by centrifugation and then
injected into the affected
areas. It also stimulates the
skin‘s collagen production.
Treatment with PRP is painless
and is also suitable for
hair loss as long as hair follicles
are still present. PRP
supports hair regeneration,
so if it becomes thinner, it
can be treated in a certain
rhythm (approx. 6 weeks)
to stimulate hair growth. I
recommend trying it out for
half a year and seeing if it
has the desired effect.
Botox, on the other hand,
is an excellent medication
that is used to treat
wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is
used as a filler because it
is a foreign material that is
injected into the body. This
type of filler is used where
volume needs to be replaced,
for example in the lips.
How long do the applications
last? Nothing is
forever, the aging process
is not stopped. Gravity is
still there and everything is
being pulled down. Botox
lasts four to six months,
depending on the nature
of the skin and how strong
the muscles are. A PRP
treatment can be repeated
quickly, initially after just
four weeks. However, you
shouldn‘t have any plans for
the evening. It‘s different
with Botox because you
don‘t see the punctures.
You offer PRP, botox and
filler at the Goldstein Practice,
but also more complex
treatments at St.Marien
hospital, right? In the practice,
I advise free of charge
and without obligation. If
we then find an operative
indication, we would then
perform the procedure at
the hospital, including the
anesthetic consultation.
Surgical procedures include
eyelid and abdominal
wall tightening, facelifts,
liposuction and lipofilling,
where fat is transferred
from one place to another.
When do you say „stop“
because you can no longer
agree on the treatment?
There are some things that
cannot be improved significantly.
So you have to be
able to realistically assess
what needs to be improved
and, when offering these
improvements, also communicate
any complications
that may occur. If I see that
no improvement is feasible,
I won’t do it. The patient
and the doctor have to talk
about what is feasible and
appropriate and then agree.
