During production, the stainless-steel parts are
carefully bent, punched, welded and drilled.The steel
tools used leave microscopically small abrasion chips
on the surface, which are usually removed by the
final treatment of the glass bead blasting. Even with
the most careful processing, which we can assure
you, it can happen in some cases that stubborn iron
particles even survive this treatment. This can lead
to slight flash rust, which you can simply rub off with
a stainless steel brush or fleece. Don‘t worry, the
stainless steel parts themselves will not be attacked.
Especially for outdoor applications, another aspect
is not to be neglected: the dirt in connection with
often existing rust film or iron particles. These
foreign iron particles can reach the equipment from
a wide variety of sources, e.g.
• from ferrous stones (quarries) in the vicinity of
smelting plants
• of nearby objects or installations with iron
content
• from contacts with ferrous objects during
unloading or assembly of the equipment (steel
fork of a fork lift truck, drill chuck of a drilling
machine etc.)
• when operating a water play system from water
that may contain iron
The resulting superficial brown rust spots often lead
to the false assumption that stainless steel rusts.
These are foreign particles of ferritic origin which
trigger the rust.
