MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Who was he <strong>with</strong> that year? That was Two English Girls he had that<br />

year.<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: Oh, that’s right. Was he here that year?<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: No, I think the tribute was—<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: No, he was here later, that’s right.<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Fellini’s Roma was the Opening.<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: Right.<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Was there a Felliniesque party?<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: At some point we moved the party back downtown to the Hyatt Regency, and I<br />

don’t remember whether that was that year. It was too hard to give a party in the Palace. Plus, they were<br />

building the Exploratorium. I can’t remember whether this was the year that Nancy Pelosi and Kay<br />

Woods started running them. They were co-chairs of the party.<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Oh, I don’t know.<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: For three or four years, they were in charge of it. And the host was Karl Malden.<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Was that when they were filming The Streets of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Francisco</strong> in<br />

town?<br />

CLAUDE JARMAN: Yes, on and off.<br />

MARGARITA LANDAZURI: Rita Hayworth was at Opening Night, and Coppola.<br />
