DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES: LADO, the National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia, was founded in 1949 in Zagreb as a professional national ensemble, with the aim of researching, artistically interpreting and presenting on stage the most beautiful examples of the rich traditions of Croatian music and dance. The ensemble’s 36 brilliant dancers, who are also excellent singers, can easily transform this folk dance ensemble into an impressive folk choir, while its 15 superb musicians play some fifty different traditional and classical instruments. LADO is often called a “Dancing Museum” because of priceless and beautiful authentic national costumes (more than 1,200 costumes) some of which are more than 100 years old. All this, together with the amazing richness and diversity of the folklore expression of Croatia, such a small country, makes LADO one of the most unique folk dance ensembles in the world.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES: The Little Star Kindergarten, formerly the Anglo- American Playschool of Zagreb, was founded in 1991. The LSK provides quality education for children 3 to 6 years old, from various backgrounds and nationalities. Our academic program is carried out entirely in English. Curriculum is based on elements of classical education; children learn basic reading, writing and mathematical skills, geography, antic history and cultural awareness, classical music and art. Teachers are trained professionals and have experience either working abroad or in international programs in Croatia. All are proficient speakers of English or native speakers. The LSK has two locations in Zagreb, both following the same educational program. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. 117
