The Special <strong>Collections</strong> Division conta<strong>in</strong>s <strong>the</strong> “Witness to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holocaust</strong>” project<br />

files and over 50 copies of selected videotaped testimony from <strong>the</strong> Fortunoff<br />

Archive at Yale University. The collection of Mary Lane, who corresponded with<br />

Otto Frank and his second wife, <strong>in</strong>cludes letters deal<strong>in</strong>g with such topics as <strong>the</strong><br />

Frank’s life <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> “secret annex,” <strong>the</strong>ir helper Miep Gies, and Anne Frank’s diary,<br />

its reputation and dramatization.<br />

The focus of <strong>the</strong> Museum is to <strong>in</strong>terpret <strong>the</strong> universal <strong>the</strong>mes of tolerance, respect,<br />

responsible citizenship, human dignity, and community-build<strong>in</strong>g through <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Jewish</strong> experience.<br />

The Ida Pearle and Joseph Cuba Community Archives house several collections<br />

perta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to American <strong>Jewish</strong> relief efforts for Jews <strong>in</strong> Nazi-occupied Europe, for<br />

<strong>in</strong>stance <strong>the</strong> records of <strong>the</strong> Georgia Farm School and Resettlement Bureau, 1936-<br />

1948, and relevant sections of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong> Educational Loan Fund records. Also<br />

available are <strong>the</strong> personal papers of Harold Hirsch, president of <strong>the</strong> Atlanta<br />

Committee for German-<strong>Jewish</strong> relief (related to <strong>the</strong> AJJDC) from 1933-1936.<br />

F<strong>in</strong>ally, <strong>the</strong>re is a small collection of yizkor books.<br />
