The <strong>Holocaust</strong> Center of Greater Pittsburgh is Western Pennsylvania's only<br />

educational resource center on <strong>the</strong> <strong>Holocaust</strong>. Its mission is to educate teachers<br />

and students; to commemorate <strong>the</strong> lives of victims, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g anyone traumatized<br />

by <strong>the</strong> events of 1933-1945; and to document those events through <strong>the</strong> collection<br />

of artifacts, videos and oral histories of survivors.<br />

The <strong>Holocaust</strong> Center of Greater Pittsburgh holds an oral history and video<br />

collection of local survivors and liberators. It also has a collection of artifacts,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g letters, photographs, and o<strong>the</strong>r carefully preserved items from <strong>the</strong><br />

camps, ghettos, and journeys of displaced people.<br />

The Center for Judaic Studies Library holds about 175 yizkor books.<br />

The files of American cities <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong> Labor Committee records are a<br />

replication of a part of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong> Labor Committee’s records, housed at <strong>the</strong> New<br />

York University Wagner Labor Archives.<br />

University Library holds over 2 million pages, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> personal papers of<br />

Rabbi Baruch Korff, founder of <strong>the</strong> Emergency Committee to Save <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

People of Europe and <strong>the</strong> Political Action Committee for Palest<strong>in</strong>e. Digitization<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Library’s manuscript hold<strong>in</strong>gs is ongo<strong>in</strong>g, but at this time, <strong>the</strong>re is no onl<strong>in</strong>e<br />

f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g aid for <strong>the</strong> Korff collection.<br />
