Einkäufer, Ingenieure, Mechaniker. Diese vielseitige Zusammenarbeit<br />
schätzt er sehr. Ausserdem reizt ihn die Herausforderung,<br />
in einem komplexen interdisziplinären Umfeld Bestleistungen zu<br />
erbringen. „In einem Metier, das finanziell ausgesprochen aufwendig<br />
ist, spielen Präzision, optimale Qualität und Effizienz eine grosse<br />
Rolle“, erklärt Bauer. Denn für den Kunden, das heisst die Fluggesellschaften,<br />
hat die punktgenaue Ablieferung der Flugzeuge in<br />
perfektem Zustand oberste Priorität.<br />
Für den Check am <strong>Air</strong>bus bleiben denn auch insgesamt nur drei<br />
Wochen, in denen zwischen 12 000 und 15 000 Mannstunden<br />
aufgewendet werden. Welch logistischer Aufwand sich hinter<br />
diesem Auftrag verbirgt, zeigt eine übergrosse Grafik, die genau<br />
festhält, zu welchem Zeitpunkt was wo gemacht werden muss, um<br />
den engen Zeitplan einhalten zu können.<br />
Und tatsächlich: Das Flugzeug, das derzeit im Hangar von SR Technics<br />
auf Herz und Nieren überprüft wird, hebt in Kürze wieder ab, um<br />
uns über die Wolken zu tragen.<br />

Planning’, Chris Bauer. From his first contact<br />
with the customer, where he discusses the<br />
exact planning sequence, right down to the<br />
final quality inspection and documentation<br />
work, Chris Bauer plans and coordinates all<br />
the operations on each part. He works with<br />
many different people: customers, buyers,<br />
engineers and mechanics and he thoroughly<br />
appreciates this teamwork. Furthermore, he<br />
relishes the challenge of having to be at his<br />
best in such a complex, interdisciplinary field.<br />
“In a profession which is markedly costly,<br />
precision, optimal quality and efficiency<br />
play a very important role,” explains Bauer.<br />
For customers, in other words the airline<br />
companies, the handover of aeroplanes<br />
punctually and in perfect condition is the<br />
highest of priorities.<br />
The maintenance of the airbus must be com-<br />
pleted within three weeks, during which<br />
time a total of between 12 000 and 15 000<br />
man hours will be spent on the job. The<br />
logistical complexity behind such a project is<br />
displayed by an oversized diagram which<br />
precisely pinpoints what should be done<br />
where and when. This ensures that the strict<br />
schedule is adhered to.<br />
Sure enough, the aeroplane currently being put<br />
through its paces in the hangar will very soon<br />
lift off to carry us over the clouds once again.<br />
