MADISON COUNTY CAREER ACADEMY SAFE TRACTOR<br />

DRIVING CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENT<br />

This contest was held at Madison County Career<br />

Technical Center on Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 16 th . Students from Madison<br />

County, Hazel Green and New Hope High Schools,<br />

participated in the event which included a safety check of<br />

all equipment and driving the trac<strong>to</strong>r through a course.<br />

Twenty five contestants from the three schools competed.<br />

Tyler Hillard of Madison County Career Technical Center<br />

was the 1 st place winner, Dallas Honea of Hazel Green<br />

was the 2 nd place winner and Austin Truitt of Madison<br />

County Career Technical Center was the 3 rd place winner.<br />

TOURNAMENT<br />

Nathan Edwards placed 2 nd while J.T. Holliday placed 3 rd in the Madison County Career Tech Center<br />

NASP Tournament.<br />

VALENTINES PROJECT<br />

Mrs. Caruso's TEACH AL students went <strong>to</strong> work with the Second Mile Preschool students for a<br />

community service project. They did two art projects and read books <strong>to</strong> the children.<br />

Alabama Regional Future City Competition<br />

A team of MCES eighth grade students competed in the<br />

Alabama Regional Future City Competition at UAH and<br />

placed in the <strong>to</strong>p five. The team received a special award for<br />

best nightscape in a future city from the Von Braun<br />

Astronomical Society. Team members were Samantha<br />

Thompson, Taylor Thrower, Kade Rogers, Seth Rose, Jared<br />

Sandner, Cannon Sloan, Cooper Flynn, and Laurel<br />

Holloway. Engineers from Boeing provided technical<br />

support.<br />
