Honor Society Induction<br />

There were 42 new members inducted in<strong>to</strong> the National Honor Society, led by club sponsor, Mrs. Lisa<br />

Rogers. “You are on the right road”, was one of the encouraging statements made by school principal,<br />

Mr. Hill. Officers gave speeches about what it means <strong>to</strong> be a member in the honor society. Students and<br />

parents enjoyed a reception after the ceremony.<br />

Youth Art Month<br />

The artwork of Rhea’Aja Jones, Laura Harbin, and Cameron<br />

Balazsy was selected for display at the Huntsville Museum of<br />

Art Children’s Gallery for a five week exhibition which will<br />

begin March 10. Also, the following 20 students will have their<br />

work on display until March 14 th : Mya Spencer, Jaden Page,<br />

Hadyn Carroll, Vic<strong>to</strong>ria Lenoir, Colten Brunhoeber, Zoe Kalfus,<br />

Lexi Cooper, Jamica Goodlow, Gavin Taylor, Austin Benson,<br />

Walter Zange, Sophie Tatum, Arianne Peebles, Sydnee Stilwell,<br />

Pay<strong>to</strong>n Bailey, Cristian Torres, Clay<strong>to</strong>n Onwere, Jack Sentell,<br />

Ashley Robinson, and Ben Basta. <strong>Congratulations</strong> <strong>to</strong> Theresa<br />

Miller, Art Teacher<br />

Black His<strong>to</strong>ry Month<br />

Mrs. Branner’s social studies class had fun learning about famous African<br />

Americans by combining artwork along with bibliographic information on<br />

their projects that were displayed on the 6 th grade hallway.<br />

Vocabulary Parade<br />

Teachers and students enjoyed a morning of costume dress-up, and parading<br />

down the hallways during the recent vocabulary parade. This is by far the<br />

most fun and lively way <strong>to</strong> learn new vocabulary words, according <strong>to</strong> the<br />

students.<br />

Leader in Me Symposium<br />

Over 200 educa<strong>to</strong>rs from around the country <strong>to</strong>ured, asked questions, <strong>to</strong>ok pictures, and heard from<br />

students about the first year of being a Leader In Me school. Countless praises and compliments were<br />

given.
