2.2.6 Wing tip vertical clearance<br />

2.2.6.1 The wing tip vertical clearance may influence:<br />

a) taxiway separati<strong>on</strong> distances with height limited object;<br />

b) apr<strong>on</strong>s and holding bays clearances with height limited object;<br />

c) aerodrome maintenance services (e.g. snow removal); and<br />

d) airfield signage clearances.<br />

2.2.7 Cockpit view<br />

2.2.7.1 The relevant geometric parameters to assess the cockpit view are cockpit height, cockpit<br />

cut-off angle and corresp<strong>on</strong>ding obscured segment.<br />

2.2.7.2 The cockpit view may influence:<br />

a) runway visual references;.<br />

b) runway sight distance;<br />

c) taxiing operati<strong>on</strong>s <strong>on</strong> straight and curved secti<strong>on</strong>s;<br />

d) markings and signs <strong>on</strong> runways, taxiways, apr<strong>on</strong>s and holding bays; and<br />

e) lights: In low visibility c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s, the number and spacing of visible lights when taxiing<br />

may depend <strong>on</strong> the cockpit view.<br />

2.2.8 Pilot-eye positi<strong>on</strong> to nose landing gear<br />

and main landing gear distances<br />

2.2.8.1 The design of taxiway curves is based <strong>on</strong> the cockpit-over-centre line c<strong>on</strong>cept. Pilots eye<br />

positi<strong>on</strong> to nose landing gear and main landing gear distances may influence:<br />

a) taxiway fillets;
