tainer several cm. from <strong>the</strong> south wall was <strong>the</strong> broken remains<br />
<strong>of</strong> a beautiful vessel <strong>of</strong> white stone, apparently alabaster or<br />
onyx marble. Unlike <strong>the</strong> onyx marble vessel from Bu. 116, this<br />
one was not stuccoed or painted.<br />
On <strong>the</strong> stone <strong>the</strong>re was slight horizontal banding.<br />
A1though not noted on <strong>the</strong> catalog card, <strong>the</strong> author remembers<br />
that <strong>the</strong> vessel was highly polished and smoo<strong>the</strong>d on <strong>the</strong> outside<br />
and on <strong>the</strong> inside 1ip down about 2 cm. The rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
interior walls were rough. On <strong>the</strong> interior base <strong>the</strong>re was a<br />
bit <strong>of</strong> brown powder, but not enough to pass positively as<br />
food remains. Below <strong>the</strong> vessel was a layer <strong>of</strong> red-brown powder.<br />
The rim diameter <strong>of</strong> 14.6 cm. was slightly larger than<br />
<strong>the</strong> base diameter <strong>of</strong> 11.7 cm.; <strong>the</strong> vessel was 12.4 cm. high<br />
with a sharp angle at <strong>the</strong> base with <strong>the</strong> ring stand. The rim<br />
was flattened and slightly everted.<br />

Two objects <strong>of</strong> jade were <strong>of</strong>f to one side <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> body<br />
and were not on <strong>the</strong> body <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> deceased.<br />
