(2) Against office
I. Ordinances (Sacraments)
1. Terminology (definitions) :
(a) A Greek word for deaconess exists but was not used in
the New Testament.
(b) Unless Phoebe is an exception, the use of "help"
or "helper" is not a word for an office elsewhere
in the New Testament.
(c) "Women" in 1 Timothy 3 refers to the wife of a
deacon (a helper), not an official of the church.
a. Ordinance : a memorial practice symbolizing the death, burial,
resurrection of Christ.
b. Sacrament : a religious rite which is regarded as a means or
sign of grace.
2. Baptism
a. Its institution
Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age."
