3. Second Coming
a. Defined : the visible return of Christ to the earth whereby He will
establish His literal, Davidic throne and initiate the Millennium.
b. Described (Biblically)
(1) Acts 1:11
"Men of Galilee, they said, 'why do you stand here
looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been
taken from you into heaven, will come back in the
same way you have seen Him go into heaven.'"
(2) Matthew 24:30
"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the
sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will
see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky,
with power and great glory."
(3) Revelation 1:7
"Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will
see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples
of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen."
(4) Luke 17:24
"For the Son of Man in His day will be like the lightning,
which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other."
(5) Zechariah 14:4, 9
"On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east
of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two
from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the
mountain moving north and half moving south…
9 The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day
there will be one Lord, and His name the only name."
