AMERICAN INSTITUTE
FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
The American Institute for Scientific: Research was incorporated under
the Laws of New York in 1!104, for the purpose of carrying on and endowing
investication in the fields of Psychical Research and Psyc:bo-therapeutic:s.
The American Society for Psyc:hic:al Research is a Section of
this Corporation and is supported by contributions from its members and
an endowment fund which now exceeds $185,000. The amoant only pays
for the publications and office expenses, but does not enable the Institute
to carry on its scientific: investications. A muc:b creater sum is required
before this work c:an be carried forward with the initiative and enerl)'
which its importance deserves. The charter of the Institute is perpetual.
The endowment funds are dedicated strictly to the uses set forth in
the deed of gift and are under the control of the Board of Trustees, the
character and qualifications of whom are safeguarded, as in cases of other
scientific: institutions.
Moneys and property dedicated by will or gift to the purposes of the
American Institute, whether to the uses of psyc:hic:al research or psychotherapeutics,
are earnestly solicited. The form which such dedication
should take when made by will is indicated in the foUowinc condensed
