Formed by <strong>Hiscox</strong> in late 2005, <strong>Hiscox</strong><br />
Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited<br />
was set up as an expansion of the reinsurance<br />
operations of <strong>Hiscox</strong> and as an internal<br />
reinsurer of the Group. It recently employed a<br />
new team to underwrite healthcare insurance.<br />
<strong>Hiscox</strong> Bermuda has an A.M. Best rating<br />
of A (Excellent). At the end of 2009, net assets<br />
were $807 million (2008: $804 million).<br />

of the then parent holding company ALTOHA, Inc.<br />
<strong>Hiscox</strong> Insurance Company Inc. is based in<br />
Geneva, Illinois and is an admitted insurance<br />
company with licences in all 50 US states.<br />
Its main business is animal mortality insurance<br />
for cattle and horses.<br />
<strong>Hiscox</strong> Insurance Company Inc. is rated A<br />
(Excellent) by A.M. Best. At the end of 2009, net<br />
assets exceeded $56 million (2008: $52 million).<br />
