JSF is still governed by a Board
of 7 Trustees which is its Policy
Making Body. Its Operations
Arm is headed by the Executive
Director. As of September, 2011,
upon being directed by the Board
and according to the New JSF
By-Laws, the Executive Director
has constituted a Management
Team headed by her and
composed of the Finance
Officer/ Administrative Officer (in
2011 only one person held the
two hats) the Unit Heads of
Governance, Agri-NRM and
Marketing and other Core Staff of
the Foundation such as the
Monitoring and Evaluation
Officer and including one
member of the Board in aid of policy making and
to articulate the thinking of the Board.
The Board has considered having a Corporate
Lawyer to handle the Foundation's legal matters.
Atty. Cheryl Ann Chamen has been
r e c o m m e n d e d . T h e P r e s i d e n t h a s
communicated with her.
During the Regular Monday meetings Unit Heads
and extensionists concerned inform/share plans
and highlights of the week/month as well as
experiences and other work-related concerns.
During these meetings the Executive
Director/Administrative Officer give information/
guidelines on project operations concerns.
Changes have taken place in the organization
relative to the Alternative Marketing Center
(AlMaCen) along the Davao-Bukidnon Highway
in Catalunan Pequeño. The Center now has a
Manager who works in tandem with the Unit
Head of Marketing since the Marketing Unit has
been expanded to Social Enterprise of which
AlMaCen is the Center. The Executive Director,
however, is still overall in charge of AlMaCen
Center. The Manager of AlMaCen is directly
accountable to her as is the Marketing Unit Head
who forms part of the Management Team.
The Techno-Demo Farm in the area next to
AlMaCen (Farm 2) and Farm 1 in Lamanan,
both of which apply agricultural techniques
and strategiesthat are taught to the
farmers, are under the Agri-NRM Unit.

STRATEGIC PLANNING and ROAD MAPPING
SESSIONS
Given the finalization of Projects, the
Foundation saw the need to plan for the future
and identify partner communities with and for
whom it could work in the line of development. A
three-day Strategic Planning Session facilitated
by Ms. Rosalinda Servano was held from July 5-
7, 2011. Further on from November 22-24 2011,
a Road Mapping was held facilitated likewise by
Ms. Rosalinda Servano. These sessions were
attended by JSF Management and Staff. The
President of the Board attended all sessions and
some Board members participated according to
the possibilities of their work schedule.
For the record, we put down here JSF's new
Vision and Mission as the result of consultation
and discussion within these sessions:
VISION: We envision vibrant, God-centered
communities where persons are responsible,
self-sustaining, in harmony with each other and
with nature.
MISSION: JSF shares the mandated mission of
the Teresian Association in the Philippines which
is to empower persons, groups and communities
in becoming fully human and spirit-filled,
enabling them to contribute to social
transformation through education and culture.
