XAVIER AGRICULTURE EXTENSION SERVICES
Xavier Agriculture Extension Services
(XAES) is an attached unit of the Xavier Science
Foundation (XSF) of the College of Agriculture,
Xavier university in Cagayan de Oro City.
It is tasked to provide agricultural extension
services to poor small farmers and rural
agricultural workers in the poor provinces of
Mindanao.
XAES has been in existence since 1959 after the
College of Agriculture was founded in 1953 by Fr.
William F. Masterson, S.J. A decade later, Xavier
Science Foundation was esteblished as a
holding institution of support projects and
programs of other units of the College of
Agriculture, including XAES. XAES derives its
legal personality from the Xavier Science
Foundation, Inc.

With the funding support from the Philippine
tropical Forest Conservation Foundation,
XAES is currently implementing a 3-year
project on coastal resource management
entitled - Sustaining Mangrove Initiatives and
Livelihood Enhancement or SMILE.
Enterprise Development
The Goat Dairy Production and Marketing
Project aims to help goat raisers increase their
income from raising for meat to milking.
Local Governance
XAES helped inthe formulation of
Barangay Development Plans in the
11 Barangays of Zamboanga.
