7.7.4 In these exhibitions, visitors
and buyers evinced keen interest in
the range of products exhibited. The
exporters who participated in these
events were able to get confirmed
orders. Besides, for popularization of
coir and coir products and promoting
their exports in international markets,
the Coir Board has taken steps like
catalogue shows during the year.

7.8 DEVELOPMENT OF PRODU-
CTION INFRASTRUCTURE
Under this scheme, financial
assistance is provided for setting up
new coir units and modernization
of existing units for the sustainable
growth of coir sector. The financial
assistance under this scheme is
25% of the project cost subject to
a maximum of Rs. 6 lakh for setting
