Dismantling The Swinging Arm<br />

Please note:<br />

For repairs to the swinging arm, please proceed as explained<br />

under "Dismantling the Dynamo", page 23, paragraphs 1, 2, 3.<br />

1. Remove 6 hex. nuts (SW 10) with discs, take off swinging arm<br />

cover. Remove gasket.<br />

2. Remove rubber protecting cap on brake disc. Take off clips on<br />

both sides of rear axle.<br />

3. Insert retainer arm of jig (407/W 37) 275 into bore on swinging<br />

arm (fixing <strong>for</strong> spring leg). Lock retainer arm claw on bolt of<br />

brake disc; using socket spanner (SW24),undo both crown nuts<br />

and remove brake disc.<br />

4. Using socket spanner (SW 10), undo 2 hex. screws 48/2 and nut<br />

48/3. Remove outer collar bearing.<br />

5. Remove retaining plate <strong>for</strong> nut 49/4 on small chain wheel.<br />

6. Using socket spanner (SW 19), undo nut 49/4 (left-hand thread!).<br />

7. Apply the extractor tool (401 1 W22) 50/1, use the <strong>for</strong>ked spanner<br />

(SW32)50/2 as a counter holder, and withdraw the chain wheel.<br />

8. Using <strong>for</strong>ked spanner (SW 10), undo the nut 50%5 between the<br />

swinging arm mounting and the crank-housing whilst the swinging<br />

arm is simultaneously taken off.<br />

9. Remove swinging arm, take off small chain wheel.<br />
