Removing and Fitting of Frame<br />

Please note:<br />

After carrying out the following operations, the frame can be<br />

removed. The following sequence is only suggested:<br />

1. Remove the engine (see page 9, paragraphs 1 to 4 and 7 to 13).<br />

2. Remove the battery-holder.<br />

3. Take off the foot board with rubber journals.<br />

4. Remove front <strong>for</strong>k (see page 43, paragraphs 1 to 5 and 7 to 13).<br />

5. Remove the front shield with starting unit, fuse box and brake<br />

li ght switch.<br />

6. Remove horn.<br />

7. Remove engine suspension and ignition coil.<br />

8. Take off foot brake lever with control cable.<br />

9. Remove centre prop stand.<br />

1 0. Withdraw steering lock.<br />

11. Take out frame ball races (page 44, paragraph 1).<br />

12. Check frame.<br />

13. For reassembly, reverse above procedure.<br />

Please note:<br />

Crash-damaged frames can be checked at the <strong>HEINKEL</strong> factory<br />

by means of a special jig. Slightly bent frames (i.e. when the<br />

frame tube has not been flattened and thus correct stability is<br />

still ensured) can be straightened out. When fitting the control<br />

cables 79/1 and electric leads, these have to be placed on both<br />

sides of the frame as shown in figure 79, and secured with cable<br />

strings 72/2.<br />
