3.2.5 Window fittings (hardware) ➔
The window fittings have to meet the requirements of DIN EN 13126. They
have to be manufactured and protected against corrosion according to the
expected strains. The informations of the manufacturer of the fittings have
to be taken into consideration.
Accessory parts as e.g. limiters are to be cited in individual position descriptions.
The operating height of the handle has to be determined and
the handles are to be fixed (if appropriate) in each room at the same
height. The window handles have to be in the same colour, surface etc. as
indicated.
3.2.6 Glazing bars ➔
Beside glazing bars dividing the glazed profiles with or without a distance
piece in the space between the panes (sbp/SZR) as well as systems inserted
into this space can be used. In case of glazing bars in the sbp/SZR it is possible
that they can contact the glass surface as a result of the opening and
closing of the window or of other mechanical influences. This may cause a
rattling noise.
3.3 3.3 General technical requirements
3.3.1 Dimensions of the windows ➔
Before the fabrication starts, the consignee is responsible for making the necessary
final measurements (the reference marker has to be made by the carcass
manufacturer). If the carcass tolerances are over the guidelines of DIN 18202
the client has to be informed verbally and in writing without delay.
We emphasise particularly that, as a basic principle, according to § 4 No.
3 VOB/B, the consignee has to complete obligation for checking and indication.
3.3.2 Working at height ➔
When working at height is needed, scaffolding may be required and the director
of works needs to be contacted in good time. Working practises should
comply with the employer’s insurance requirements and, if necessary, any site
regulations.
All scaffolding necessary for inside and all movable platforms up to 2 m are
to be made available by the consignee. The resulting costs are to be included
in the calculation of the flat prices.
If the consignee has to make scaffolding available, the regulation on
which the corresponding offer is made is DIN 18451. For that reason this
specification contains a service item.
3.3.3 Waste disposal ➔
Windows and other building components which have to be removed in conjunction
with the specifications in the invitation to tender, as well as other
waste, are to be disposed of according to the Environmental Protection
regulations. Note any special local regulations!
If the waste contains harmful substances the client has to be informed
verbally and in writing without delay.
