Planning of the installation
5. Planning of the installation
The planning of the installation can start after the final
measurements. Therefore the following points are to be
considered:
● To simplify the operation, the areas of responsibilities are
to be precisely defined and clearly named. (e.g. is the in-
stallation company responsible for all sealings? Is clean-
ing necessary? etc.)
● In general, the extra work and specific performances de-
scribed in the offer shall be controlled during the final
measurements.
● The condition of the window recess under the window,
which is to be removed, is important for the choice of the
right fixing agent, especially in case of reconstruction of
old buildings.
● It is also to be clarified if the removal of the old windows
and their disposal is to be calculated as extra work or spe-
cific performance.
5.1 Organisational planning
■ Points of intersection / area of responsibility

■ Control of the procedure documentation
- finale measurements and position plans
- technical drawings or isothermal representations
- work instructions

- cleaning, remove protective foil
- make the hand-over or at least arrange it
■ General details
- training of the personnel
- in case of window walls use only the permitted assem-
bling auxiliaries
- avoid soiling, especially in case of coloured profiles
5.2 Installation planning
If not emphatically required, all elements are to be installed
vertically, horizontally and flushly. If the exact position of the
windows and doors in the building is not exactly defined, it has
to be stipulated in writing with the customer or with the planner.
5.2.1 Fastening in the building
The fastening of the windows and doors in the building is the
basis of the installation. All forces affecting the window ac-
cording to plan have to be transferred into the building. This
must be done before the fastening with the necessary security
and with regard to the movements occuring in the interface.
5.2.2 General principles
According to the German Building Regulations of the Land the
windows have to be anchored in such a way that neither life and
health of people are in danger nor public safety compromised.
