6.3.1 Joint insulation<br />
E.g. the following materials can be used for insulation:<br />
■ 1-component polyurethane foam,<br />
■ 2-component polyurethane foam,<br />
■ glass wool,<br />
■ rock wool,<br />
■ cork,<br />
■ insulation tapes.<br />
Attention:<br />
The installation<br />
Pay attention that the insulation materials used stay<br />
dry during installation. Otherwise, they will not main-<br />
tain their insulating function.<br />
PU-foams establish more or less pressure during the<br />
curing, this pressure has to be absorbed by the window<br />
construction.<br />
Open ancillary profiles in the plane of the window<br />
should be closed to the inside and opened to the out-<br />
Especially consider the roller shutter top boxes in the head piece area and in the area of the front external pelmet. In these<br />
areas no deformation must occur because of the curing of polyurethane foams. Take note of the manufacturer’s instructions<br />
(fig. 25).<br />
