Goals for 2000
Enhancing fellow and resident education
is one of the major goals of the
division for 2000. The clinical caseload
has obviously given the division the
opportunity to do outstanding clinical
teaching of both residents and fellows.

ing learning. We will also take a leadership
role in the ACU, with Cardiac
Anesthesiology Intensivist directed by
Dr. Steve Hill. The goals of this program
will be improved quality of care, and
enhanced educational and research
opportunities.
The group has developed a national
continuing medical education presence
to allow the showcase of ongoing
clinical and research work within the
division. The “Fourth Annual Duke
Cardiothoracic Update” will take place
in Hilton Head, SC, June 23-26, 2001.
We continue to appreciate the
leadership that Dr. Reves provided to
Duke Heart Center and the division
over the last ten years and thank him
for his support, as we try to aggressively
pursue a leadership role in cardiothoracic
anesthesia for the next century.
