P. gilva (Ach.) Malme. - A palaeotropical fertile
species having a white medulla, a
cyanobacterial photobiont and yellow
pseudocyphellae on the lower surface and
at the lobe margins. It is known from
South Africa (the type locality) to southern
South America (Galloway 1992). Philippines.

widely distributed in the palaeotropics

- Apparently endemic to FUi, and characterised
by narrow, subdichotomously

green photobiont, and white pseudocyphellae
on both upper and lower surfaces

P. sulphurea (Schaerer) D. J. Galloway. - A
widespread palaeotropical species having a
white medulla, a green photobiont, a dimpled,
impressed upper surface (not faveolate)
and white pseduocyphellae on the
lower surface (Galloway 1985b). New
