in Nonvay, Oppland. In Central Europe it
is known as an alpine species and the
records in Scandinavia also indicate an
alpine preference. Earlier records are from
calcareous bedrock but Mt Valaberget is
granitic or slightly diabasic. Maybe the
exposed habitat is more important for the
species than the bedrock.

Reported by Santesson (1984). On

the base of a decorticated stump of Pinus
sylvestris.

of an old Salix caprea.
Cladonia luteoalba: Moberg (1990). Nordingr6,
Ringkallen, 1990, RM. Fairly
common on big boulders in the northeastern
steep slope. As pointed out by Stenroos
(1990) it is associated with C.
metacorallifera.

boulders in the northeastern steep slope.
Cybebe gracilenta (Ach.) Tibell: Nordingr8,
Ringkallen, 1991, RM; L99o, A. Nordin
(UPS). Reported by Tibell (1975). On
Additions to the lichen flora of Angermanland 4l
Acer platanoides and Salix caprea in
shaded positions.
*Dimelaena oreina: Vibyggeri, Valaberget,
L986, RM. This is the only record in
Sweden outside the alpine region. It is
growing on exposed rocks.
*Dimerella lutea (Dickson) Trevisan: Nordingr6,

1991, GT. - It was first reported from
Sweden (Gtistrikland) by Nordin (1990)
and recently published as new to Sk6ne
(Johansson 1992) and Smiland (Arup &
Ekman (1992). On Ringkallen it is
growing in a shady situation at the base of
old Salix caprea. On Valaberget it is
growing on Sorbus aucuparia in a small
glen (20 x 20 m) at the seashore. On
deciduous trees several other rare, mainly
southern species as Anhonia didyma,
Anhopyrenia pithyophila, Biatora epixanthoides,
Lepraria lobiftcans, Pertusaria
coronata, P. flavida, P. leucostoffia, and
Thelopsis flaveola arc found.
